![]() Amenity: Lakes
Permanent waterfowl (pinioned) include two graceful English Mute swans, one of which–who was born on these grounds and goes by the name of Junior–was actually the progeny of Gus. (The Clubhouse's Gus' Landing facility was named after Gus, who took up permanent residency here in the early 1980s. In 2008, suffering from a heart condition and arthritis, he was put down in May. His untimely death was preceded by that of Molly's, who had come to us in 1998, and had died in 2001, following a complicated surgical procedure.) The second swan (with the darker colored beak) answers to the name of Joe and has also been with us since 1998. The lakes are stocked with carp and occasional 'visitors' include families of curious racoons.
